Price is £330.00 + VAT Per Day for up to 4 people
Objectives
To provide employees with sufficient skills and knowledge to carry out their duties safely and efficiently whilst operating mobile elevating work platforms. The training is carried out to a standard accredited by ITSSAR (Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register) in line with HSE expectations.
Contents
Classroom instruction on the following:
- Legislation
- Basic type of MEWP and terminology
- Standing Area
- Wind Speeds
- Electrical Hazards
- Written assessment
Practical instruction and delegates’ participation on:
- Access and Egress to the carrier
- Safe starting, manoeuvring and stopping
- Awareness of the working area
- Accurate use of the hydraulic controls
- Judgement of speed, space and height from the carrier
- Isolation of work area
- Park and secure MEWP
- Operating safely to Banksman signals
- Practical assessment of competence
An English Language written multiple-choice questionnaire and practical test must be completed satisfactorily to qualify for Certificate of Basic Training.
Course Duration
- Novice operator 2 days.
- Experienced, non-certificated operator 1 day.
- Refresher/Conversion 1 day
NB
It is recommended by regulatory bodies that full body harness and fall restraint systems should be worn where equipment provides suitable anchor points. ITSSAR in support of these recommendations request that all trainees have either undertaken harness training prior or harness training is incorporated or added to the appropriate course.
